What to expect?

Over two days, we’ll explore the key elements of birth preparation, from understanding how your body works, to building practical tools and confidence for labour, to creating a calm, informed mindset. Each session combines learning, discussion, and hands-on practice, helping you and your birth partner feel fully prepared for a positive birth experience.

This course follows the KGHypnobirthing method, a well-established and accredited approach that combines evidence-based knowledge with practical relaxation and mindset tools to support a calm, confident birth.

Day 1: Understanding Birth & Building Your Toolkit

We’ll begin by exploring what actually happens in the body during labour, how your muscles, hormones, and mind all work together to support birth. You’ll learn how to create the right conditions for your body to do what it’s designed to do, helping you feel calm, confident, and in control.

The second part of the day focuses on practical preparation. You’ll experience tools such as guided relaxations, breathing techniques, visualisations, and massage, building your own toolkit to stay centred and connected throughout labour.

Day 2: Making Informed Choices & Bringing It All Together

On the second day, we’ll explore how to navigate moments when birth takes an unexpected turn, and how to make confident, informed decisions that feel right for you and your baby.

We’ll also bring everything together, looking at the stages of labour, what to expect during the golden hour, and how to create a calm, supportive environment wherever you give birth. You’ll leave with a clear sense of confidence, a shared understanding with your birth partner, and practical next steps for the big day.
